Ground source heat pumps (GSHPs) or geothermal heat pumps (GHPs) are a highly efficient, environmentally friendly, renewable energy technology for space heating, cooling and hot domestic water supply for residential and commercial buildings. This technology is having popularity because of its ability to reduce primary energy consumption and thus diminish production of greenhouse gases. The purpose of this study is to present an energy and exergy analyses of a ground source heat pump system for hot water supply for a hotel in Antalya, Turkey. Then, a comparative thermo-economic analysis of the heat pump system is performed.
